In a historic unveiling, Sadio Mané broke ground on SM10 Agro, a 500‑hectare mango processing hub in Bambali, Senegal. The project promises 1,000 jobs and a leap toward agribusiness self‑sufficiency.
From Pitch to Plant
Mané’s journey from a village boy to a global football icon fuels his commitment to community upliftment. By investing 11.7 billion CFA francs, he seeks to transform Casamance’s agricultural landscape.
The launch ceremony drew local dignitaries, including President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, underscoring national support for the venture’s economic impact.
Engineering a Mango Future
SM10 Agro will cultivate 78,000 Kent mango trees, processing 8,500 tonnes annually into pulp, puree, dried mango, and butter. The plan tackles the 40% loss of raw harvests.
Additional facilities will focus on guava processing, research labs, and agro‑tourism, diversifying income streams for the region.
Job Creation and Skill Development
With an initial 1,000 direct jobs and potential to reach 2,500, the project offers employment across manufacturing, logistics, and hospitality sectors.
A dedicated training centre will equip locals with modern agro‑processing skills, fostering long‑term workforce empowerment.
Strategic Partnerships and Expansion
The initiative is backed by Senegal’s investment promotion agency APIX, ensuring streamlined construction over 18 months and operational launch by early 2027.
SM10 Agro aims to supply domestic markets while exporting to Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, positioning Bambali on the global supply chain map.
